I like have the experience with things that I suggest to others and this was a suggestion. So, this was something that needed to be tried.
I had a few large rocks around and chose one for the task. This is a sandstone rock I picked up from the yard witch measures :
Height 10 inches
Width 7 inches
Thickness 5 inches
No scales to weight it but it has some weight to it.
The only alterations to it was some removable along the bottom with a hammer and chisel so that it would sit straight along the bottom edge. Then the painting began with a rough outline followed by the details with acrylic paint. The entire process took about an hour and a half, not being in a rush. More details could be added to the lower section but I'm warming up to the current look as it is. If there is anything else to be done with it, it will be to add a clear coat over the painted area.
